On March 24, Shagang Group hosted its 50th Anniversary Overseas Customer Appreciation Gala under the theme "Fifty Years of Shared Brilliance – Joining Hands for a Century-Long Future." Global partners, industry experts, and representatives of financial institutions crossed mountains and seas to gather along the banks of the Yangtze River. Over the past five decades of profound change, Shagang started as a small steel rolling workshop along the Yangtze River. Its total exports have surpassed 60 million tons, with products reaching over 100 countries and regions, allowing Shagang to stand tall on the global steel stage. Mao Xinping, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Dean of the Institute for Carbon Neutrality Innovation at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, delivered a talk titled "Technological Foresight for the Steel Industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan Period," offering an in-depth analysis of global trends in steel industry technology innovation, as well as the challenges and opportunities in the coming five years. Shen Yi, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs of Fudan University, presented "An Analysis of Current International Hotspots and Major Power Strategic Rivalry." Wang Jianhua, Chief Analyst of Shanghai Steel Union, shared "Value Equilibrium: A Review and Outlook on the 2026 China Steel Market."
During the themed forum "Supply-Demand Synergy and Win-Win Innovation," Shagang leaders engaged in in-depth discussions with experts in trade, politics, and economics, as well as distinguished international guests, on hot-button topics such as the global business environment, emerging market demand, high-end manufacturing transformation, CBAM, and finance—demonstrating Shagang's strategic vision and pioneering leadership in proactively navigating challenges.
During the conference, Shagang's leadership also held in-depth talks with key clients, listening to their needs and fostering meaningful dialogue. New Shagang products, including Castrip and green steel, were presented to the attendees.
