Shagang Grandly Held the First Shagang Group Innovation Conference
Innovation is the soul of a nation’s progress, the inexhaustible driving force for a country’s prosperity and development, the deepest national endowment of the Chinese nation, and a key factor in promoting the sustainable development and market competitiveness of enterprises.
On May 23, the Shagang Group Innovation Conference was grandly held. It was a summary and commendation meeting for innovation work, a mobilization meeting to unify thoughts, improve stance and firmly follow the path of innovative development. It was also an oath-taking rally to accelerate the implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, strive to enhance core competitiveness, innovation, and leadership, thus building an innovative Shagang.
More than 300 Shagang staff gathered together, including Shen Bin, Gong Sheng, Chen Shaohui, He Chunsheng, Ji Yongxin, Chen Xiaodong, Shi Yixin, Ma Yi and other leaders of the Board, the main leaders and relevant persons in charge of various departments and subsidiaries, as well as representatives of technological innovation, management innovation, mass innovation etc., concentrating on the importance of innovation, hand in hand to discuss the policy of innovation and jointly depict the glorious future of enterprise innovation and development.
The development of Shagang over the past 50 years is a history of pioneering and arduous entrepreneurship by Shagang staff, a history of innovation and exploration, a history of hard work and pursuit of excellence, and a history of dedication and industrial rejuvenation of the country. Shagang has always adhered to the development concept of Science and Technology are Driven Forces and Inexhaustible Resources, and carried forward the corporate spirit of Self-dependence, Hard Work, Endless Innovation, and Continuous Climbing. With innovative thinking, one step ahead and diligent work, Shagang has achieved one goal after another, and finished the Metamorphosis from a small rolling mill workshop to a modern world-renowned steel complex.
In recent years, aiming at the target of Building a World-class Steel Enterprise and Creating a Century-old Shagang with Enduring Prosperity, Shagang Group has adhered to the concept of Technology is the Primary Productive Force, Talent is the Primary Resource, and Innovation is the Primary Driving Force, and has unswervingly implemented the innovation-driven development strategy. Therefore, Shagang’s comprehensive innovation competitiveness has continued to rise.
Gong Sheng, Executive Director of the Board and President, reviewed and summarized the achievements, experiences, and inspirations of the Group's innovation work over the past fifty years.
Chen Shaohui, Executive Director of the Board, Vice President and Chief Engineer, and Chairman of Shagang Steel, delivered a report on Shagang Steel’s innovation work from 2021 to 2023.
Shi Yixin, Executive Director of the Board and Vice President, and General Manager of Shagang Steel, announced the commendation decisions of Shagang Steel and Shagang Group.
Amid the inspiring music, the leaders present at the meeting presented awards to the advanced groups and individuals in Shagang Steel’s mass innovation, and to the representatives of the winners of mass innovation organization award, mass innovation advanced individual award, management innovation achievement award, and technological innovation achievement award. Also, the Shagang Group Innovation Workshop was awarded a plaque.
Three award-winning representatives gave enthusiastic speeches, introducing their winning projects from aspects of technological innovation, management innovation, and innovation workshop establishment, sharing their work experience, practices and perceptions, and looking forward to future innovation work based on the actual situation in their respective fields.
Shagang Steel, Huaigang Special Steel, Dongbei Special Steel and Fushun Special Steel signed contracts on a series of major technological innovation projects, including the Research on Key Technologies of Producing Advanced High-strength Steel Based on Castrip Mini Mill and the Product Application Demonstration.
Shen Bin, Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of Shagang Group, delivered an important speech, emphasizing the importance and necessity of innovation from three dimensions, i.e. remembering the history, basing ourselves on the present and facing the future. Also, he clarified the goals and specific requirements for Shagang Group’s innovation.
Shen Bin pointed out that the current era is an era of constant change, evolution and development, only innovators advance, only innovators are strong, and only innovators win. Achieving transformation, upgrading, innovation and development of enterprise is a mountain that all Shagang staff must climb for future development and a tough battle that must be won.
Shen Bin requested that leaders at all levels should further clarify the ideas for future innovation and development, take innovation as an important driving force for realizing Shagang’s strategic goals in the future, center on building a century-old Shagang with enduring prosperity, closely adhere to the three cores of Benefit, Efficiency and Talent and focus on the construction of Efficient Shagang, Quality Shagang, Green Shagang, Innovative Shagang, Smart Shagang and Responsible Shagang. By further improving mechanisms, strengthening guarantees, concentrating efforts and being pragmatic, Shagang will fully stimulate the potential of innovation and efficiency of all employees, accelerate the formation of new quality productive forces, enhance new development momentum, and promote the steady and long-term development of high-quality enterprise.
Shen Bin emphasized that the entire group should further focus on the problems, potentials and key points, regard innovation as the core of promoting various tasks, continue to improve supporting mechanisms, strive to realize the interaction, mutual promotion and integration of the innovation chain and industrial chain, and accelerate the transformation of innovation achievements into real productivity. Shagang should take this innovation conference as a starting point, go all out to enhance technological innovation, management innovation and mass innovation, strive for more innovative achievements, boost new results in production and operation, create new advantages in market competition, and make new and greater contributions to move forward continuously in the direction of becoming a high-end, green, intelligent and efficient enterprise!
This innovation conference will also hold three special events and expert lectures on technology innovation promotion, management innovation seminar and mass innovation exchange.
